Privacy Policy
How Digital Corals collects, uses, stores, and protects your information.
1. Who We Are
Digital Corals is a Web3-enabled coral biobank and digital record platform designed to record, track, verify, and support the ownership and husbandry of real coral grown outside the ocean.
Digital Corals may use blockchain technology, including the XRP Ledger, NFTs, digital wallets, user-submitted coral data, coral images, marketplace features, token systems, and community tools.
For privacy-related enquiries, contact us via the website. Legal entity name, registered address, and contact email to be confirmed before publication.
2. Information We May Collect
Personal Information
We may collect: name, email address, contact details, billing or shipping information, customer support messages, account profile information, order details, and enquiry form submissions.
Technical Information
We may collect: IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, website usage data, referring website URLs, approximate location derived from technical data, session information, and error logs.
Wallet and Blockchain Information
When you connect a digital wallet, we may process: public wallet address, NFT identifiers, token identifiers, transaction references, public blockchain metadata, NFT ownership status, and NFT image and metadata references.
We do not ask for, collect, store, or have access to your private keys, seed phrases, secret numbers, passphrases, or wallet recovery information.
Coral and Aquarium-Related Information
Users may submit: coral images, coral names, species or classification information, tank or coral location details, growth records, update records, fragging records, husbandry observations, and metadata linked to a Digital Coral record or NFT.
Marketplace and Transaction Information
If marketplace features are enabled, we may process: listings, offers, purchase records, sale records, transfer references, payment or settlement references, associated wallet addresses, and order fulfilment data.
3. How We Use Information
We may use information to provide the Digital Corals website and services; allow wallet connection and NFT verification; display eligible Digital Corals NFTs; enable users to create, update, view, and manage coral records; process purchases, updates, and marketplace activity; maintain security and prevent misuse; improve website functionality; send service updates; and comply with legal obligations.
4. Lawful Bases for Processing
Depending on the activity, we may rely on: Contract — where processing is required to provide services or process orders. Consent — where users opt in to marketing, non-essential cookies, or optional data submission. Legitimate interests — where processing is necessary to operate and improve the website. Legal obligation — where processing is required for accounting, tax, or fraud prevention.
5. Blockchain Transparency
Blockchain systems are public by design. If you interact with Digital Corals through the XRP Ledger or another blockchain network, certain data may be publicly visible, including public wallet addresses, NFT ownership history, NFT transaction records, token transfers, and public metadata references.
Blockchain records may be permanent, public, and difficult or impossible to delete. Users should not submit information to blockchain-connected systems unless they understand this.
6. User-Uploaded Content
If you upload coral images, tank photographs, update records, descriptions, or other content, you confirm that you have the right to upload that content; the content is accurate to the best of your knowledge; the content does not infringe another person's rights; and you understand that some content may be displayed publicly if attached to public NFT records or marketplace listings.
7. Data Sharing
We may share limited information with trusted service providers where necessary, including website hosting providers, payment processors, email service providers, analytics providers, wallet connection providers, blockchain infrastructure providers, and professional advisers. We do not sell personal information.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, including legal, accounting, operational, and security purposes. Some blockchain records may remain publicly accessible indefinitely due to the nature of distributed ledger technology.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect user information. However, no online system or blockchain network can be guaranteed completely secure. Users are responsible for securing their own wallets, devices, passwords, and private keys.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of certain data; restrict processing; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; request data portability; and complain to a data protection authority.
Please note that blockchain records may not be capable of amendment or deletion once published.
11. Children
Digital Corals is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised last updated date.
