Coral Custody Disclaimer

Important information about real coral, husbandry responsibilities, and biological risk.

Last updated: 27 May 2026

1. Living Organisms

Corals may grow, decline, bleach, die, become damaged, be lost, be fragged, or change appearance over time. Digital Corals does not guarantee coral survival, growth, colouration, health, reproduction, or long-term viability.

2. Keeper Responsibility

Users who physically hold coral are responsible for appropriate husbandry, including: water quality, lighting, flow, feeding, pest control, disease management, tank stability, safe handling, and compliance with applicable laws.

3. NFT and Physical Coral Relationship

A Digital Corals NFT may be associated with a real coral record, but the NFT itself is a digital record. Unless expressly stated in a specific agreement, NFT ownership does not automatically guarantee: physical possession of coral, transfer of coral, coral survival, coral replacement, coral shipping, insurance cover, or biological performance.

4. Loss, Death, or Damage

If a coral linked to a record dies, is lost, damaged, sold, transferred, or fragged, the user should update the relevant record where possible. Digital Corals may provide systems for recording these changes but cannot guarantee biological outcomes.

5. Conservation and Research Use

Digital Corals may use aggregated, anonymised, or permissioned coral record data to support conservation, education, research, and community knowledge. Any such use will respect user privacy and platform policies.
